F2 Irons

I had a hole in one on April 6, 2008: Hole #12 - 119 yards - I used an F2 9 Iron with a Titleist golf ball at South Padre Island Golf Course. This is my fourth Hole in one. Bert Diaz, Ramon Garcia and Raul Vergara witnessed this hole in one. Thank you! - Cesar Montelongo

I am writing this e-mail to let everyone reading this know how great these F2 Irons really are. I’m hoping the detail in this message will help others as “Craig Endres’s” review helped me.

I am a 2.9 handicap at the moment averaging 78.43 per round. I was a .2 handicap in 2004 and playing the best golf of my life. One day on the practice range I was tinkering with my swing when out of the blue……I “tin cupped” one. OK. No big deal. I then proceeded to shank 20 in a row. I could not believe this was happening to me. Everyone on the range was looking wild and the person beside me moved to the other end of the range. I finally had to leave. This was the beginning of the end for golf being fun to play. While I never actually shanked a ball during play, I have spent the last three years facing this problem warming up and practicing on the range. I have to constantly think about NOT shanking the ball and this has led to serious confidence problems with my irons. The only reason I’m still a 2 handicap is because of my driving, chipping and putting. My irons just haven’t been the same until NOW.

When I goggled “shank” on the internet to try and find more cures, I came across this website. I began to study the F2 design and read all the reviews. I then purchased the entire set based solely on the reviews I read at this site. I have now played “two” rounds with these irons and I cannot believe how great I hit these clubs. I shot a 77 and 76 on consecutive days from 7100 yards in 45 degree weather. I golf year round and never worry about the temperature. I only add it to this message because I was hitting these irons about 4-6 yards further than my Callaway X-Tour Irons with the loft and lie being exactly the same. I have always played graphite shafts in my irons and usually fly my 7 iron 150-152 in the air in the summer. Today, I hit the F2 7 iron 157 in the air multiple times with all irons going further than the X-Tours with a temperature of 45 degrees. In addition, I hit these irons very straight with a higher trajectory than those of my Callaway X-Tours. The sound and weight of the clubs are similar to the X-Tours and they feel solid even when hit off center. The grips were just a touch bigger than I’m used to and this may be the reason I was hitting them so straight. (A smaller grip tends to promote a draw.)

The best part of the past two days is not having swing thoughts about “shanking” the ball during my rounds. If you haven’t experienced this problem, you can’t imagine the feeling of playing a round of golf not worrying about shanking the ball. After 100 balls on the range, I began to swing faster and hit the ball more solid than I ever remember doing when I was a .2 handicap. If anyone is thinking these clubs are only for mid to high handicap golfers, think again. These clubs are for serious golfers who want to focus on scoring. If scores are more important to you than what your friends think, try these clubs. (My friends ribbed me a little but didn’t have much to say when I won all the money two days in a row!)

Golf is fun again thanks to the F2 irons and wedges.

I have now played the stiff graphite f2 irons for several weeks. They are the easiest clubs to hit that I have ever owned. They are also a good deal longer than my Pings, and straighter too. The ball flight is excellent throughout the set, with little tendency to balloon. The clubs hit it about 5-7 yards longer than my current set and tend to promote a slight draw. I have learned to set up with the club a little open if I need to hold the shot in a right to left crosswind. Easy smooth swings result in gorgeous shots with little effort. You can hit shots out of the rough with the irons and they always come out straight, thanks to the shank proof design. The hosel doesn't get stuck in the grass. The gently curved sole also reduce any tendency to hit it fat, and the divots produced are "perfect". Would I buy another set ? You bet. These are great clubs for better players. My 6 handicap is in the process of coming down to a 2 or 3.  Right now, all I need to do is hit the Driver straight so I can get to these irons. The f2's make the game fun!

Just had to tell you. I’ve had a great season already with the new F2 irons, having reduced my course handicap to a 13 (down from a 16). And, this weekend, for the first time, I broke 80 with a solid 78 at a tough Palmer designed course in Western Kentucky (37/41) / my other two rounds there were 85 and 82 – excellent for me. There’s no question in my mind that the irons in combo with the wedges are making this huge difference in my game – it’s just so much easier and a lot more fun. Thanks again.

- John Ellis

I've seen a dramatic improvement in my scoring with the new F2 Irons. I was a Callaway man for a long time, but these clubs are incredibly easy to hit and dead perfect about every time. They just seem
to fit my swing path so much better, and the added confidence I have from anywhere out in the fairway or rough makes the game enjoyable. Well done F2 -- you've applied your wedge technology beautifully to these irons!

Wow. I bought the Iron set. 4-p . They look wierd, but they make the game almost too easy. Aim straight, good swing, and the club will do the rest. Thanks F-2!!!

As a golf writer I get to test and review a large variety of clubs. At the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show's Demo Day I tried just about every club available from every company. Of all the irons that I hit that day, the most impressive, by far, was the F2 Irons.

These babies were almost too easy to hit. In fact, I started calling them "stupid-easy" to hit. The ball jumps off the face in a beautiful arching trajectory that brought a smile to my face. Teh long irons from this set will not need replacing by hybrids. They are that easy to hit!

The ball goes so straight off them that my iron game could become as easy as "point and shoot".

Thanks guys. You have truly out-done yourselves!

- James Stammer

Every 4 years I get a severe case of the "Tin Cup" shanks and tequila won't solve the problem. I basically would have to quit golfing for months to shake them. I got them again and couldn't hold on for the steel shafts, so I took a chance on the graphite ones...I'm hitting the ball better then my pings when I was shank free. I don't have to live in fear anymore.

- Bob Latker

I bought all the F2 wedges over a year ago and loved them. I just bought the iron set and went out and hit them without even practicing and drew almost every shot. I did not shank one shot, which has always been my problem. You have to hit them to be convinced of their great technology.

- Fred Fluty

I received the full set of Irons a few weeks ago. The first full round of golf I played with them I shot a 70. I can not tell you how much I like tham because you can't shank a ball. I really like the high ball flight on them and the ball flighs the same yards as my ping irons. Please call me and I will discuss more on the phone. I have been showing alot of people around here the irons. Some of them have a hard time looking at the wedges but when they play with me and see the scores I think they are amazed.

- Craig Endres

I received your set of irons a week or so ago. Itās now fun to play golf again! I am a 6 handicap player who suddenly started shooting in the high 80ās and 90ās due to a serious case of the shanks. I know it was more mental than anything else, but golf was simply no fun! With your clubs I can once again swing with confidence, and I am now back to shooting in the 70ās. In fact I played at two courses in North Carolina this past weekend that I had never played before. I shot 78 in both rounds, with poor putting!

I am writing to let you know how great of a job F2 did in the design of the new irons. A year ago I had fourteen Ping clubs in my bag. I now have three. I have been playing the 52, 56 and the 60 degree wedges for four months now and I received the full set of irons three weeks ago. The irons I received have steel shafts on them and I love the swing weight and feel of the steel shafts. I did put an x100 Tru Temper shaft in the 4 iron and it didnāt feel the same and the ball flight was lower. I have been a 3 handicap golfer for the last six years. The lowest I have been was a .8 in 2002. My game has always had issues with the irons. While some players miss hit shots off of the toe of the club my miss hits are off of the heel and as you know this will cause a hozel hit and shank. I hate that word. For the last 8 years every iron shot I hit I would think of not hitting the hozel. Now that I have the new F2 irons I can swing freely at the ball knowing that I will not shank it. I cannot tell you how great this feels not thinking about the hozel. My scores have shown it too. I was a 3.7 index when I received the clubs and I am now carding a 2.0 handicap. A 1.7 drop in three weeks. I am a big believer that golf is such a mental game and these clubs give me the confidence that I can do anything. I showed some of our members the irons at let some of them hit the clubs I think I could have sold some sets on the range if I would have had some more. I was not going to sell mine because I have waited years for someone to design a set of these.

- Craig Endres

I am writing to tell you how pleased I am with my new F2 irons. I have owned seven sets of clubs over the years, including Haigs, Pings and Callaways, and I can assure you that the F2's are the most forgiving, most accurate and most comfortable clubs I have ever hit. You and Mr. Dobbins should be commended for giving avid golfers like me an incredible new tool to make golf even more enjoyable.

- William A. Viscomi

I can't tell you how much I look forward to the new irons. If they have as much impact on my game as the wedges have, then my dream of being a single handicap golfer can be realized. Since I started using the wedges, my handicap has come from an 18 to a 13 in six weeks. Thanks again...

I think the F2 golf club is a great club!
